  • Flexible working hours - so you can pick and choose your own routine, and make better use of your time to enjoy your life
  • A good Income - because you want the chance to earn what you deserve so you can control your finances, and plan ahead
  • Reward for your efforts - If job satisfaction is on your list, it doesn't get much better than helping other's achieve their dreams, and share in their excitement

If you think this could be your dream career, then read the stats below...

With a growing population and more & more people learning to drive it's a great time to become a driving instructor.

Last year more than 1.7 million driving tests were conducted in the UK, which is more than in the previous 7 years.

The increased desire for driving lessons has led to people having to wait months before they can start their lessons, and that's the same for most cities across the UK.

The DVSA (Driving Vehicle Standards Agency) has recorded a 16% drop in driving instructors on the register since 2012, and there's 40% less new instructors joining the register in 2017 than in 2012, which could account for why instructors are seeing some of the busiest times for quite a few years, and it's only set to continue in the future.

Are you Interested? Well this is how you can get started with a new career

There's three stages to becoming a successful Driving Instructor, and at the end of each stage you'll take a test with the DVSA. You have to pass each test in order before you can book the next.

The qualification you are heading towards is a Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), Approved driving Instructor (ADI) .

Your training starts with the Part 1 theory. This is where you will need to build your knowledge. There will be a lot that you will already know, and perhaps quite a bit that you don't.

Our part one training consists of a fully structured home study course, the DVSA recommended reading material, including DVD's, the UK's best online theory and hazard perception training site and our own online video training programe. Plus workshops where you can test your knowledge with an instructor to make sure your ready for the part one test. This step by step process will guide you through the first stage of the qualifying process, before embarking on part 2.

The part 2 is basically a more advanced version of the driving test that a learner driver has to successfully pass to gain their full driving license. The theory behind part 2 test is to give you an understanding of the high standard required by the DVSA for a learner to pass a driving test. Your part two training is one to one with an Elite trainer, and for extra support we include a part two study pack and online training videos

The final part of your training is a test of your ability to instruct people and give them the knowledge and skills required to keep them safe on the UK's busy roads. This will be the most unfamiliar part, and is designed for you to demonstrate your ability to teach people to drive to the DVSA standard. This is where you will need most of your training hours, because you will need to develop the teaching and coaching skills required to become a successful driving instructor.

Elite's instructor training team will give you the correct level of training for the part three stage, with regular evaluation sessions so that you know how well you're doing. You've also got access to our online part three video course, and your trainer will set mock tests to make sure your ready for that final exam.

We don't just stop there. We guarantee you a position with our winning team when you qualify, and we will also continue to support and help you develop your skills and build a good reputation as a successful driving instructor in your local area.

We'd like to be your training partner and help you acheive your dream driving instructor career

Our premier training program has everything you'll need included, and your training is focussed on you, which is why all of your in car training is one 2 one with just you and an Elite trainer.

Plus all of your training is taking in our own training vehicles, using our fuel and insurance.

Cheaper training courses provided by others can often involve car sharing, which means that you spend some of your paid time in the back waiting for your turn. Although they will say you are getting experience from others, you're the one paying for it, and if they are not at the same level as you, then you're not gaining any benefit.

Training to suit you:

It's important that you choose the style of training that meets with your requirements. You can choose the option for:

  • Learning at a steady pace: Some people prefer to take their time when learning something new, or their life commitments restrict the time they have available to learn.
  • Learning quickly: For some people the quicker the better, but every process has hurdles, and the big ones for potential driving instructors are waiting for the DVSA exams. The waiting lists can often be weeks or even months in advance. And like jumping hurdles you have to jump over one hurdle before you reach the next, which means you must pass the part one exam before you can book the part two exam, and pass part two before booking part three. In many cities in the UK waiting times for all three DVSA exams can take up to 6 months and beyond, and so your training should be based around these waiting times.
  • Fast Track: Ambitious people want to learn in a week or two, but this style of learning only benefits a small group of individuals, especially those who have a photographic memory and like the pressure of intensive learning. Getting short notice tests with the DVSA can be a problem, but we chase cancellations on a daily basis.

Some people never manage to qualify. There are three mains reasons for this:

  1. There is very little support, and people get left to their own devices - they get disheartened and give up
  2. They buy into cheap courses that doesn't include nearly enough hours to become successful - and run out of money
  3. There's little structure to their training, no schedule, and the trainers constantly cancel lessons - so they run out of time and have to wait TWO years before being able to start from scratch

We see you as a valuable addition to our business, and so the standard of our training is exceptionally high. We want you to qualify as a driving instructor, and join our winning team...

When you qualify, we'll guarantee you a position with our successfull driving school, & help you build your successful driving instructor business. You'll benefit from our proven operating system that guarantees you the perfect self-employed business without the fear, fatigue and frustration of having to do it yourself. In addition, you've got the backup of the driving school, should something go wrong.

Imagine...

  • Working for yourself, being you own boss and in control of the days & hours you choose to work
  • Having your own marketing team- finding all of your customers
  • Having your own first-class sales team talking to prospective customers and booking their lessons with you
  • Having a crack team of specialists working with you to build your reputation and grow your business
  • Helping people learn a valuable life skill, and the satisfaction of knowing you've helped improve their life

We'll these just some of the benefits of joining a successful driving school that's been acheiving amazing results for it's instructors for over 27 years.

The Next Step:

Questions:

  • How long do you have to wait before you can start training to become a driving instructor?

First you need to apply for a criminal record check, watch the video here, before you can register with the DVSA to start your training, which can take a few weeks.

You should make full use of the waiting time by starting to study for the part one theory test. As soon as you are registered with the DVSA you can book your part one test.

  • One of the most often asked question we get asked is: How Quickly can you be up and running earning a living as a driving instructor after you've passed the three DVSA tests?

Once you have passed the final part 3 exam with the DVSA, and paid to join the register as a qualified instructor, the cost is £300. You can start work as an ADI immediately.

  • Do you have to start as a franchisee driving instructor with an established driving school or can you go it alone?

It's beneficial for new instructors to start their career by joining a franchise driving school to build up the knowledge, skill and reputation.

For example, when you join Elite you'll get access to our proven operating system that guarantees you the perfect self-employed business without the fear, fatigue and frustration of having to do it yourself. In addition, you've got the backup of the driving school, should something go wrong.

Some newly qualified driving instructors decide to go it alone from the start, after all most will know a dozen or so people who want to learn with them. The downside is they are more than likely going to have to give away cheap lessons, and when they have exhausted these people they may find it hard to compete with the established instructors in their area.

To become an approved driving instructor (ADI), you must first successfully complete the three stages of the driving instructor training, and pass each of the three Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) examinations.

But before you can start training, you must be aged over 21 years old, have held a full UK licence for at least 3.5 years, have not been banned in the last four years, have no more than 6 points on your licence, and also be a "fit and proper person (in the opinion of the DVSA).
