Route 66 Driving Courses

Learners | Driving Courses

Design your own driving course

Paying for lessons and booking them in advance is becoming very popular because you can take as many lessons as you want each week (providing your instructor can squeeze them in).

The main benefit of course is that you can pre-book the spaces you want in advance, and you'll also learn quickly without having to take the intensive route.

It's straight forward, simply select the number of hours you want, add the theory and the driving test if required and then a member of our team will organise your lesson dates and book the tests.

6 hour block taken as 4 x 1.5 (90 minute) lessons

Practical Driving test information

Please read this important information about booking a driving test.

The DVSA who are the organisation responsible for testing in the UK requires that candidates must pass the theory test before they are able to book their driving test.

Driving tests can be cancelled at short notice by the DVSA for reasons such as examiners calling in sick, or if your examiner arrives back to the test centre late from a previous test.

Should this occur the DVSA will book a new test date for you. It is not the driving schools fault should your test be cancelled by the DVSA.

If you would like any further information, please call the office on one of the following numbers:

From Hull 01482 772301

From York 01904 819781

From all other locations 03332 004130

We offer a no quibble guarantee. If you book & pay for a block of lessons and decide for whatever reason that you no longer wish to continue, or you pass the driving test before using your pre-paid hours, we guarantee to refund any unused time. Please see terms and conditions here.

Why 90 minute lessons could be the best option for learners!

Well is all down to the maths really. 60 minutes isn't enough time in the car, and two hours can be too long for some students, especially when you're starting out.

Did you know in 1877 the length of a football game was set to 90 mins because it was deemed to be the most appropriate length of time because it catered for the fitness levels of most players and the concentration/interest levels of those watching.

Did you know that the International Space Station travels at 17,500 miles per hour, 220 miles above the Earth’s surface and it completes an entire circuit of the world every 90 minutes.

Did you know that a 90-minute nap between 1pm and 4pm in an afternoon has been scientifically proven to help your cognitive functions for creativity, memory retention and logic? It seems like the Spanish and Italians have got it bang on with siestas.
